The Edmundston Arts Centre is proud to announce the return of Musical Wednesdays downtown for a 37th season! A series of eight professional concerts presented free of charge at 7 p.m. every Wednesday from July 6 to August 24 on the Gilles-Guerrette Stage at City Hall Square. The entire population is invited!
The 2022 edition will feature singer-songwriters from Madawaska, New Brunswick and Québec. It will feature a wide variety of musical genres, from pop and folk songs to rock, country and punk. In addition, the Arts Centre is proud to present as many female as male artists in its programming this summer, always with the aim of encouraging parity within the music industry.
The season will begin on Wednesday, July 6 with DÉJÀ-VU, an instrumental jazz trio from Rivière-du-Loup. They will be followed on Wednesday, July 13 by SAMAËL, a guitarist from Saint-Léonard and a "Fingerstyle" virtuoso. LEELA (pop song, Bas-Saint-Laurent) will be up next, followed by ALEXANDRE DIONNE (folk country rock, Edmundston), POULIN (rock, Saguenay), PLYWOOD JOE (folk country punk, Nigadoo), MARIE-ÈVE LAURE (pop country folk, Iles-de-la-Madeleine) and VÉRONIQUE BILODEAU (pop song, Rimouski).
Please note that in case of rain, shows will be presented at the Arts Centre (82, chemin Canada), but with a limited number of seats.
