SUMMARY:Causerie - Artist talk
DESCRIPTION:Artist Talk\nMeet Lee McLean\, a textile artist whose works are currently on display at the Arts Center Gallery.\n\nThis talk will consist of two parts. First\, using a visual presentation\, Lee McLean will discuss the evolution of her improvisational piecing practice\, her artistic approach\, and the techniques she uses to produce this kind of work. In 2023\, she won first place in the Abstract and Improvised Art category of the 2023 Quilt Canada national competition. The work is currently part of a traveling exhibition across Canada.\n\nNext\, Lee will invite participants to join her for a guided tour of her exhibition. This tour of her works will allow her to explain how she first developed her skills in traditional patchwork before integrating them into her contemporary artistic practice. Since she employs a variety of techniques in her work\, she will be able to discuss\, for each piece\, her artistic intent as well as the patchwork methods used in creating her works.\n\n* Presentation in English

SUMMARY:Roch Voisine
DESCRIPTION:ROCH VOISINE : The Lightfoot Sessions\n\nAcclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter Roch Voisine returns to the stage with The Lightfoot Sessions\, a new concert experience paying tribute to the legendary Gordon Lightfoot. Reimagining some of the most iconic songs in the Canadian songbook\, Roch brings a fresh and intimate perspective to Lightfoot’s timeless repertoire\, while revisiting highlights from his own celebrated career.\n\nThe performance features classics such as “If You Could Read My Mind\,” “Sundown\,” and “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald\,” alongside Roch Voisine favourites including “With These Eyes\,” “Kissing Rain\,” and “I’ll Always Be There.”. The show is presented in an acoustic format that allows the songs to breathe\, revealing their depth\, subtlety\, and enduring emotional power.\n\nWith a career spanning more than three decades\, Roch Voisine has sold millions of albums worldwide and remains one of Canada’s most beloved artists\, known for his distinctive voice and ability to connect across generations and languages.\n\nThe Lightfoot Sessions is more than a tribute-it is a journey through songs\, stories\, and shared musical heritage\, brought to life through personal anecdotes and reflections from the stage.
