CORNU COPIAE is an installation of hybrid sculptural works that explore our relationship with the object in the context of overconsumption. It takes a critical look at the evolution of this relationship between the human consumer and the consumer product and focuses on the many paradoxes that mark this relationship at a level of consumption beyond that of useful or true need.
Excess and overload characterize this exhibition and reminds us of this balance that has recently been undermined by the appearance of covid-19 and that researchers have correlated with our lifestyle. Humans who use glyphosate to protect themselves from plants deemed harmful have in turn become invasive species through their ecological footprint.
Considering that this phenomenon stems from a capitalist and patriarchal system that pulls the strings of an image-based society, the artist favors an anarchic aesthetic, created with incongruous arrangements of fragmented materials that break with their original context.
