Call for submissions – Exhibition – City Hall Gallery

The Edmundston Arts Centre, in collaboration with the City of Edmundston’s Arts and Culture Department, invites artists in the process of becoming professional artists and new artists to submit their submissions for an exhibition at the City Hall Gallery.

The Arts Centre always accepts applications, but evaluations are generally carried out once a year.

About the Edmundston Arts Centre

The Edmundston Arts Centre, located in a former church in the heart of downtown, is a space dedicated to creating and presenting arts. The Centre offers varied, high-quality artistic programming through performances, creative workshops, training courses and exhibitions.

The City Hall Gallery highlights artists who, through their artistic activity, devote time to promoting and professionalising their work.

Documents to be submitted

The submission must include:
– The artist’s full contact details;
– A professional photo of the artist (high resolution);
– Detailed description of the exhibition project (max. 500 words);
– Artistic approach (250 words max.);
– Biography (max. 200 words); Artistic approach (max. 250 words);
– CV;
– 5 to 10 images of the exhibition or of recent works (JPEG or PNG, 2MB max per image);
– Where applicable, 5 minutes of digital video documentation;
– A visual that represents the exhibition and will be used for promotional purposes.

Exhibitions last four months. The exhibition fee paid to the artist, subject to the availability of funds, is established with reference to the CARFAC rates (A.1.7) in effect for exhibitions with works for sale.

Dimensions: The space offers 17.5 linear metres of exhibition space, divided into 9 sections.

Hanging: A system of rails for hanging pictures is permanently installed on the walls.

Access: Located on the main floor of the Town Hall, the gallery is accessible either from the main entrance (via the staircase) or from the car park entrance (via the staircase or lift).

Lift: Dimensions: 1.3 m (4’4‘) wide, 2 m (6’9’) long, 2.2 M (7’3″) high.

Door opening: 107 cm (3.6′) wide, 2.1 m (6’11”) high.

Technical staff: Centre des arts employees can help with the installation and dismantling of the exhibition.
