Call for submissions – Exhibition – Professional Art Gallery

The Edmundston Arts Centre invites established and emerging professional artists to submit their applications for the professional art gallery programmation. Curators are also invited to propose curatorial projects.

The Arts Centre accepts applications at all times, but evaluations are generally carried out once a year.

About the Edmundston Arts Centre

The Edmundston Arts Centre, located in a former church in the heart of downtown, is a space dedicated to the creation and dissemination of the arts. The Centre offers varied, high-quality artistic programming through performances, creative workshops, training courses and exhibitions.

The Arts Centre’s professional art gallery showcases practices rooted in a contemporary artistic approach.

Documents to be submitted

The submission must include:
– The artist’s full contact details;
– A professional photo of the artist (high resolution);
– Detailed description of the exhibition project (max. 500 words);
– Artistic approach (250 words max.);
– Artistic biography (max. 200 words);
– CV;
– 5 to 10 images of the exhibition or of recent works (JPEG or PNG, 2MB max per image).
– Where applicable, 5 minutes of digital video documentation.
– A visual that represents the exhibition and will be used for promotional purposes.

Exhibitions last three months. The exhibition fee paid to the artist, subject to the availability of funds, is based in reference to the current CARFAC rates.

Artists are encouraged to present a talk, performance or workshop during their exhibition period. Additional remuneration will be offered where applicable.

Dimensions: length 12.27 m (40’3‘) x width 8.71 m (28’7’) x height 2.74 m (9′).

Access: Located on the 1st floor of the Arts Centre, the gallery is accessible either from the main entrance (via the lift or stairs) or from the loading bay (via the warehouse, on the same level as the gallery).

Lift: Dimensions: 2m (4’6‘) wide, 2.2m (7’6’) high. Door opening: 1.06 m (42″) wide, 2.2 m (7′) high.

Technical staff: Centre des arts employees can help with the installation and dismantling of the exhibition.
