PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMIDIATE RELEASE
Edmundston, N.B., Monday January 13th – La Petite Église Arts Centre proudly presents “Mer et Rivières” (Sea and Rivers), an exhibition by artist Daniel Robichaud. His artwork will be on display at City Hall Galerie from January 27 to May 9, 2025. A coffee meet-and-greet with the artist will take place on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, in the lobby of Edmundston City Hall from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., offering the public a unique opportunity to discuss his creative process and inspirations.
Originally from the Acadian Peninsula and now a resident of Madawaska, Robichaud shares through his artwork a profound connection with nature that has shaped him throughout his life.
Inspired by childhood memories of fishing boats and Atlantic waves, as well as the beauty of surrounding rivers, the artist transforms these moments into vibrant and textured paintings. Each piece captures intimate emotions and invites viewers to explore their own reflections on nature and the landscapes around them.
Working primarily with oil paint, Robichaud adopts a realistic style while experimenting with dynamic techniques, such as knife painting, to add texture and vitality to his creations. His works stand out for their rich palette and their ability to evoke both the harmony of natural landscapes and the complexity of human emotions.
Although his background is in science, Daniel Robichaud rekindled his passion for art in 2021 under the mentorship of artist Louise Giroux. Since then, he has exhibited at renowned venues across New Brunswick and continues to collaborate actively with artist collectives such as the Plein Air au Jardin group artists group.
“Mer et Rivières” (Sea and rivers) is a celebration of the timeless beauty of nature. An invitation to rediscover the wonders that surround us and to be moved by the landscapes and memories they evoke.
