An opening reception will take place on Thursday, September 11, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., offering a unique opportunity to learn more about the artist.
“Racines empruntées – un voyage identitaire” explores the deep and complex connections between identity and heritage through a series of paintings inspired by old family photographs. This project, developed over more than four years, raises universal questions: who are we, and how does our past shape our present and future?
Delving into the intergenerational history of her ancestors, Lisa Marie Boissonneau weaves an intimate connection between personal and collective memory. Her works, enriched by family stories and visual archives, invite the public to reflect on their own roots, while addressing social and historical issues linked to adoption, an experience deeply rooted in her life journey.
Originally from Moncton and now based in Mauricie QC, Boissonneau has a background in visual arts and a rich artistic career. She has participated in international competitions and exhibited her works in galleries across Canada. Her pieces, characterized by a profound identity quest, resonate with universal themes while celebrating the richness of personal and family histories.
