Edmundston, N.B., Wednesday May 14th 2025 – The Centre des arts La petite église is proud to present “Ressourcement à la campagne” (Resourcing in the Countryside), an exhibition by Margaret Walsh, to be held at Edmundston City Hall Gallery from May 20 to August 8, 2025. A coffee meet-and-greet with the artist will take place on Wednesday, May 28, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., offering a unique opportunity to discuss her creative process and inspirations.
“Ressourcement à la campagne” is inspired from the serenity and beauty of rural life through a series of paintings inspired by outdoor adventures, nature excursions, and artistic collaborations. Each piece reflects the harmony of countryside landscapes, enhanced by the play of light and shadows and sometimes enriched by the presence of animals, adding a magical touch to the compositions.
Through her mastery of oil painting, Walsh creates works with warm colors and captivating atmospheres, transporting viewers to a welcoming and soothing universe. Her works are primarily inspired by local landscapes but also include scenes from elsewhere, reflecting her deep love for nature.
Originally from Edmundston, Margaret Walsh developed an interest in painting during her teenage years. She honed her skills by studying with renowned artists such as Claude Picard and Clarence Bourgoin. She has taken part in numerous events, including the Rendez-vous des artistes, Coloris d’Automne, Plein Air, Paint the Past at Kings Landing, as well as group exhibitions at the Centre des arts d’Edmundston, the Musée du Madawaska, the New Brunswick Botanical Garden, the PBP Gallery at the Centre Maillet in Saint-Basile, and the Acanthus Gallery in Grand Falls. For the fourth consecutive year, she is the coordinator of Plein Air at the New Brunswick Botanical Garden and serves as president of the Coloris d’Automne Symposium.
With “Ressourcement à la campagne”, Walsh invites the public to rediscover the timeless beauty of the countryside and be enchanted by scenes full of serenity and charm.
