PRESS RELEASE
IMMIDIATE RELEASE
Edmundston, N.B., Friday January 17th – La Petite Église Arts Centre proudly presents “Miroirs de l’imaginaire” (Mirrors of the Imagination) an exhibition by visual artist Tawfiq Chichani. The opening reception will take place on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 5 p.m., offering a unique opportunity to meet with the artist and explore his creative universe. The exhibition will run from February 6 to May 16, 2025, with free admission, at the Arts Centre Gallery.
Originally from Morocco, now residing in Dieppe New-Brunswick, Chichani explores the multifaceted nature of humanity through expressive and striking portraits that capture the essence of human emotions.
With a modern and innovative approach, Chichani employs painting, illustration, and photography to transcend appearances and reveal universal truths that connect us as human beings. Each piece becomes a window into the soul, an invitation to embark on an introspective journey where joy, sadness, wonder, and anger blend into a powerful visual language.
The artist pushes the boundaries of artistic expression by experimenting with various materials, including paper, canvas, and wood. Enriched by research into the psychology of emotions and facial expressions, his work reveals a unique depth that captures attention and inspires reflection. “Miroirs de l’imaginaire” (Mirrors of the Imagination) is a celebration of the human condition in all its complexity and diversity.
